Culture matters

And you do not have to spend months working out what matters most

There are many definitions of culture. We define it as the ideas, beliefs, customs and practices that shape an organisation’s work and its employees’ behaviour.

Do any of these questions apply to your organisation?

Do you work in a way that sets you apart from your competitors?

Are your employees’ behaviour reflecting the culture you want?

Do you struggle to attract and retain talent?

Are you losing good talent to your competitors?

Do you struggle internally with people issues?

Are you trying to bridge the gap between remote, office and hybrid working?

What is your stance on climate change and social justice?

These problems won’t solve themselves. You need to take action. We can help.

What we do

Multiple studies have shown that actively building your organisation’s culture can significantly impact your success.

“Majorities of workers who quit a job in 2021 say low pay (63%), no opportunities for advancement (63%) and feeling disrespected at work (57%) were reasons why they quit…”

But where do you begin? How do you know where to focus? What can you do that has a real effect, both immediately and over the long term?

Culture develops over time. But taking deliberate steps towards building the culture you want doesn’t have to. We help organisations quickly get a pulse on their current culture and create a roadmap for achieving their desired culture.

The On Culture three-step programme will help you to determine what your challenges and opportunities are and develop a concrete plan to move forward:

Capture current perceptions of culture across your whole organisation

Identify the gaps between where your culture is at present and where you want it to be

Clarify where to start and what needs to happen to move your culture forward

About the tool –
the Culture Canvas

Developed from our work with clients on growth strategies, internal and external communications, creative problem-solving and process facilitation, the Culture Canvas provides a broad, holistic perspective on your organisation’s culture. It will force you to consider where you are now, what you might need to do differently to build the culture you want, what opportunities exist, and what areas need addressing.

The Culture Canvas begins by exploring your purpose and values and then looks at how culture is present across 12 key pillars. We delve into each pillar through multiple lenses to help you to understand the strengths and weaknesses of how your organisation is explicitly fostering or undermining your culture.
